The Diary of a Crazy Woman

need I say more?

welcome

“Live life fully while you're here. Experience everything. Take care of yourself and your friends. Have fun, be crazy, be weird. Go out and screw up! You're going to anyway, so you might as well enjoy the process. Take the opportunity to learn from your mistakes: find the cause of your problem and eliminate it. Don't try to be perfect; just be an excellent example of being human.” ~ Anthony Robbins

A week in Review!

I’ve been really bad about blogging the last couple of weeks! It’s been so crazy with school starting for me and the kids, and all the other things that have needed to be done!

So, the kids started back to school, which is wonderful only having the girls home during the day. It’s been a nice break for everyone! Dylan loves school mostly. We’ve only had a couple of days when he didn’t want to go to school. The first one was awful and he hadn’t had enough sleep, and took his medicine late so he was out of control! He refused to go to school, so Craig and I were trying to get him in the car, and buckled up, but he wasn’t having it. He was screaming at the top of his lungs like we were beating him, and with our luck there happened to be a police man parked across the street because he had just pulled someone over. As soon as he was done with his traffic stop he came over to see what was going on. Talk about embarrassing!! I think Craig was more embarrassed than I was. The guy tried talking to Dylan, but he wouldn’t look at him, or talk to him. He tried showing him a picture of his son, giving him a business card, and told him he’s got to go to school and was going to wait across the street until he went to school. He did in fact wait across the street for quite a while before he left. Part of that time we were sitting on the porch with Dylan trying to get him to get in the car, but he just wasn’t having it. About 1 1/2 hours after he took his pill he was willing to go to school. That kid has a mind of his own, and until he makes up his mind that he’s going to go to school, it just isn’t going to happen!

On Thursday Mia wasn’t feeling well. She screamed every time I moved her. I thought maybe she had an ear infection because she wouldn’t suck so I took her to the doctor. The doctor checked her out, and all looked good except she wouldn’t move her neck or really hold up her head. She cried every time she had to be moved. The pediatrician said there was a small possibility that she could have meningitis and to watch her for the next couple hours. If she didn’t get better I was to take her to the emergency room so they could do a spinal tap. Well after a couple of hours she wasn’t feeling any better so Nate and I decided she should go to Primary Children’s Hospital.

At the hospital she had to have blood drawn, an IV put in, multiple exams by multiple doctors, and x-rays. The poor girls was so sick of people looking at her that she screamed anytime anyone would get close to her. Poor girl was so miserable and in pain. After all the test it was decided she probably slept on in wrong and was having neck spasms. Four hours in the ER, and she slept on it wrong! I was so glad that it was just a stiff neck, but GEES!! Poor girl was tortured all day! By the time we left she was starting to hold her head up by herself and was acting like she felt better. She’s such a cutie. On the way home I said, “I love you, Mia” she said in her little voice, “I love you too, Mama.” Awww!

I’m glad Mia’s okay! It stinks when you have to go through a big, long, painful process just to find out that things are fine.. but then again, better that things are fine than not. :)
